John Green’s novel, The Fault In Our Stars, is an amazing story and the book cover is striking! I was inspired by the cover art (and Nerdfighteria) to make a leather masquerade mask.  My masks are hand cut, shaped, and painted.

artisticattempts: This year at my school seniors got to reserve a parking spot and then they could pay $20 to paint it. They wouldn’t let me put the initialism DFTBA for some reason, but now even people who aren’t familiar with Nerdfighteria will remember to be awesome. DFTBA!

Quote painted here was an excerpt of “That’s always seemed so ridiculous to me, that people want to be around someone because they’re pretty. It’s like picking your breakfeast cereals based on color instead of taste.” I would also like to thank everyone for the overwhelming support and response, stay awesome everyone!
