happy-little-cloud asked: Do you understand the verizon/google thing Hank mentioned? I looked it up and I still really don't
get it. :/
Welp, looks like we need to tell Evil Hank that people actually do care.
I have no idea what he was talking about, but I just googled “verizon and google” and came across this article in the Huffington Post… looks like it has something to do with net neutrality?
I dunno. Hank, will you please explain this??
Alright, further research has been done by your favorite FYNF contributor. According to Save the Internet, Google is doing something evil and is joining forces with Verizon to “end the internet as we know it.” Google’s motto in this whole Net Neutrality debate is “don’t be evil.” I smell hypocrisy!
New York Times reports:
Google and Verizon, two leading players in Internet service and content, are nearing an agreement that could allow Verizon to speed some online content to Internet users more quickly if the content’s creators are willing to pay for the privilege.
Uh-oh. A mention of YouTube in the second paragraph. This does not look good! I’m telling Google not to be evil. Who’s with me??
