WOW!
We are so close to getting to $100,000 (which will be matched by Bill Gates!) to help get 8,000 people in Ethiopia access to clean, safe water.
And it looks like we’re going to get there in two days. Amazing. THANK YOU.

We passed $100,000 yesterday! Up to $133,000 now! WOW! Keep it up!

Spring is in the air (in some parts of the world…), and that can only mean one thing: It’s time for Accio Books!Over the years, our annual book drive has built libraries in Rwanda, the Mississippi Delta, and New York City. Members like you have collectively donated over 100,000 books. This year, we are thrilled to announce that our primary donation recipient will be the Brightmoor Community Center in Detroit, Michigan. All of the books collected during the drive will be catalogued by our University of Michigan chapter, The Whomping Wolverines, and in September they will be given away for free to members of the Brightmoor community during an appearance of our Apparating Library at Brightmoor’s annual Back To School Rally. You also have the option to donate locally or join up with your local chapter to see where they’re donating this year. No matter how or where you donate books, be sure to log them for points in our annual House Cup.

Will Ravenclaw win again? Will we beat our record of 30,000 book donations from last year? Will Tom Hiddleston hear about our campaign and personally donate one thousand books?
THE GAME, DEAR WIZARDS, IS ON!

Nerdfighters! You only have until the end of May to collect donations for Accio Books, so get on it! If you’ve already collected books, make sure you report your book donations to the HPA so that they can get an accurate count of how many books have been donated and because HOUSE CUP COMPETITION!

The Australian Nerdfighters are running a project to create and hand out care packages to the homeless in some of Australia’s major cities.

On any given night one in 200 Australians will experience homelessness. We aim to hand out 300 care packs which will include essential hygiene items, water, snacks, socks and scarves, and an info sheet detailing local support services.
There are a number of ways to help our team of dedicated Nerdfighters reach our goal: you can knit scarves (http://dft.ba/-knitting), make a cash donation (https://www.mycause.com.au/page/67002), or volunteer (http://dft.ba/-packs4homeless
Like our Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/packs4homeless) and follow us on Twitter for up to date information on the exciting happenings with the Project, and to help show your support!

Best Moments of the Project for Awesome

You can still donate and get fantastic perks here: http://dft.ba/p4a

The P4A was AMAAAZIIIING but there’s no way you can catch everything unless you are an android and do not sleep or require food or bathrooms…in which case…I welcome our robot overlords.

Thank you so much to everyone who participated. If you watched the livestream, voted for videos, made a video, watched videos, commented on videos, or made a donation…the awesome of this day is because of you.

And also thanks to the people who volunteer their time to the P4A…here’s a limited set of credits.
