OMG I JUST LEARNED WHERE THE ORIGINAL VLOGBROTHERS INTRO TUNE CAME FROM
hahahahahahaha, a couple things.
- I didn’t even know I had this song, I got it along with a bunch of other stuff from my girlfriend.
- This is further proof that John and Hank Green are brilliant. The choice of their intro song is a subtle reference that could be easily overlooked and nothing is lost by passing it by, but if you understand the reference you realize that it fits perfectly.
- Listening to this song for a second time, “as our December sun is setting.” did they commission this song!? haha.
I love unexpected discoveries such as these, both unknown songs in my iTunes and connections not previously seen.

THE BROTHERHOOD 2.0 DVD BOX SET KICKSTARTER
Hello, Nerdfighters!
We over here at FYNF HQ have been sitting on this idea for a while - producing and distributing Brotherhood 2.0 on DVD, through DFTBA Records!

John and Hank have decided not to communicate except through video blogs for an entire year…. AND THEY DON’T MIND IF YOU WATCH THEM DO IT!
Brotherhood 2.0 was the original project of the vlogbrothers, when John and Hank uploaded videos every weekday for the entire year of 2007. This DVD set will contain 720+ minutes of video, covering everything from the heartbreaking tale of John’s eye surgery to Hank’s song about Helen Hunt that shocked the community. Witness the birth of the Nerdfighter community in this six-disc set!
There was a time before crashcourse and the Lizzie Bennet Diaries; before DFTBA Records and Final Cut Pro and high-definition camcorders. Let’s take a trip in the Way Back Machine and experience Brotherhood 2.0 the way it was never meant to be seen: on HD televisions!
This is something we’ve been trying to put into action for a long time now, and so, based on previous success, we’re trying out kickstarter to get this idea into action. Hopefully you all will be generous enough to support our venture, as well!

Policy and Politics: Brotherhood 2.0 Week Begins
In which John discusses the tax proposals of the two major candidates for President while arguing against the hysterical rhetoric that marks contemporary political discourse. This is the first of six consecutive daily videos Hank and I will be making to fulfill the first of our two outstanding punishments. Also discussed: the difference between ordinary income and capital gains, and the theory behind taxing capital gains at a lower rate than ordinary income (which both candidates favor, just to different degrees).
And thus, the Nerdfighters were born.

Brotherhood 2.0
So I decided to create a word cloud with the 75 most used words, by the Vlogbrothers in 2007. I chose the words out of these quotes, and therefore the cloud’s not that accurate (If I’d somehow got my hands onevery word said during Brotherhood 2.0, I think that for example “Good morning” would have had a greater impact).
The bigger the word, the more used it was.

All of Brotherhood 2.0 is transcribed at the wiki! Although that would be a serious time commitment, and this is still awesome.

Also, why is John’s name always- except for January- so much smaller than Hanks? I don’t even know.
I think this is because Hank tends to start off with a “Good morning, John” and then not really address him by name for the rest of the video, whereas John says “Hank” a… lot, like he almost starts every new train of thought with it. Any other theories? -Valerie
