I was inspired by the Carnegie Hall Live stream, so I drew this.

My mission for the holidays this year is to be more creative, starting with this Nerdfighter T-shirt (inspired, of course, by the angler fish song)

My friend Nora is the coolest. She made a light-up embroidery anglerfish.
Tonight I had the chance to meet children’s book author and illustrator Laura Kvasnosky (creator of the Zelda and Ivy series, among others) who taught us how to do the gouache resist method she uses to illustrate some of her books. This is what I ended up making. The colors look a little strange in this picture due to the less than stellar quality of my phone camera, but this is basically how it turned out.
Of course a few people asked what DFTBA meant, which then led me to give a brief explanation of Nerdfighters/John and Hank. And of course, because I was in a room full of children’s librarians and current/future teachers, a large portion knew who John is. Which THEN led into half of those people freaking out about how good TFioS is, and the other half of those people freaking out because they hadn’t read it yet.

How the Male Anglerfish Gets Completely Screwed →
The Oatmeal describes (in awesome detail) how the male anglerfish gets screwed in anglerfish relationships. If you enjoy Hank’s “Song About an Anglerfish”, you will undoubtedly enjoy this. ~Morgan
