The nerdfighters of kiva have revived the Brotherhood 2.0 celebration of wearing something on your head: Today, they’re loaning thousands of dollars to entrepreneurs in the developing world with a special emphasis on those who share our values.
Specifically, our value for putting something on our heads. So today I’ve made loans to, among others, the farmer in Peru pictured above, a pub owner in Uganda, and a grocer in Rwanda to help them grow their businesses. You can make loans of your own for as little as $25, and you’ll be paid back 99% of the time. I’ve made more than 1,000 loans, andI’ve had exactly 0 people not pay me back so far.
Want to join us? It’s easy and in many cases GENUINELY FREE.
If you’re not a member of kiva, you can follow my invite link here (or find another invite link among the tumblr reblogs below) and make your first loan for free.
If you’re already a member, go log in, make sure you’ve joined the nerdfighters group, and make some loans today. And right now, thanks to the generosity of an anonymous rich person, every time a friend you’ve invited makes a kiva loan, you get a free loan for yourself, too! So use your invite links!
Happy Something on Your Head Day!
